The Opportunity

At Arden University, we pride ourselves on being true innovators, disruptors and pioneers. Our focus is to promote life-long learning and ensure that everyone, everywhere can access higher education. We are currently looking for a Front Desk Agent to join our friendly Student Experience team based in our Birmingham Study Centre.

As a Front Desk Agent you will be the first point of contact for all students, staff, and visitors at the Arden Study Centre. You will provide a warm and professional welcome to everyone who enters the study centre, and ensure that all initial queries are handled with the utmost care and attention.

Your role will also involve working closely with the Head of Centre Operation to ensure that all facilities-related issues are addressed promptly and efficiently, so that students and staff can focus on their studies and work without any interruptions. This is a crucial 'front of house' role that requires excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as a genuine passion for creating a positive and welcoming environment.

About You:

It is important you have a vocational qualification such as NVQ 2-3 or City & Guild, or equivalent, along with some experience in a relevant role. Alternatively, you should have considerable work experience in a relevant role, reinforced by work experience. In addition, you should be proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and web, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

You should have a working knowledge of relevant IT systems, equipment, and procedures to investigate issues and problems, and evidence of delivering excellent customer service as well as experience in assessing and responding to non-routine work/situations, and an appreciation of the standards set for the conduct and output of the role. It would be desirable for you to also have familiarity with the work of the department and of the university, as well as experience in delivering facilities-related support.

Please refer to the job description for more details.

Closing Date: Monday 27th February 2023

We reserve the right to close this vacancy before the specified closing date should we receive sufficient applications or in order to respond to business needs. In order to avoid missing an opportunity to apply please submit your application as early as possible.

As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we recognise, and studies confirm, that often underrepresented candidates in the work place are less likely to apply to roles unless they meet all skills and experience of the position.
