Position available:
· Freelance Prop Maker
Short term contract - 1-3 months – 40 hours per week, negotiable.
Start date – January 2023
Rate – dependant on experience.
Location – remote work, in company training.
Costumes with Character is one of the world’s leading Mascot and Costume Character Manufacturers, creating bespoke characters for a wide variety of clients from all sectors including leisure, entertainment, sports, education, corporate, charities and many more across the globe.
The Freelance Prop Maker’s duties will include:
· Creating character heads and props which are an accurate representation of the design alongside being comfortable to wear, with good vision and ventilation.
· Working to a high standard and within given timeframes using a range of tools and materials. Plastazote, ABS vac formed plastics, glues, foams, faux fur, Lycra etc.
· Working closely with the whole creative team to achieve a quality product.
· The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience in the costume/prop making industries. Experience working with fur and Plastazote foam would be an advantage.
· Cutting and sewing skills would be an advantage but not essential.The interview will require a short workshop skills test.
