Freelance Grant / Bid/ Tender Writer
Salary: Day rate to be agreed, dependent on the work required
Term: Freelance on a zero-hour contract basis (hours to be mutually agreed as needed on a project-by-project basis)
Location: Remote, access to offices is available, if required
Introduction to the role
Groundwork East has over 30 years of experience in delivering bespoke projects that use the environment as a catalyst for building a more sustainable future. The need for our work is continuing to develop and as a result we are looking for a select number of professional and experienced writers to join our team and help us meet ad-hoc demand as we grow.
We have a small, but busy in-house business development and fundraising team. However, there are occasions when we need to supplement this resource – adding capacity to support specific application or tender processes we have identified as key to our development. As a Freelance Writer you will work this team and operational colleagues to carry out research, collect together relevant data and write bids and applications.
We are looking for Freelance Grant / Bid /Tender Writers who are creative, have a keen eye for detail, thrive on creating engaging content and importantly who share our passion for working across our communities to improve the environment, reduce inequality and strengthen the economy.
If you are a grant and/or bid writer with proven experience of the following we would love to hear from you:
- Writing successful grant proposals or tenders
- Guiding an organisations operational staff and leadership in project design, including developing measurable outputs, outcomes and impacts
- Working collaboratively with community partners to develop inspiring copy
- Helping create budgets and writing budget narratives
- Working on Landfill, Lottery and charitable trust applications and/or Local Authority tenders (particularly: AEB, Shared Prosperity Fund, Levelling Up funding and/or section 106 / CIL funding).
