Main Purpose of Role
Ascend is in Stage 1 of a 3-stage growth plan towards becoming the world’s first £100M DE&I media business by 2030. We are looking to prove that high-growth businesses can self-fund their expansion and generate healthy profitability throughout the journey. As such, we are looking to create a solid financial foundation to support our growth and to provide a clear financial picture for future investors.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Finance Manager will be responsible for working in our accounting software (Xero) to structure historic data and set up reporting systems, management accounts and data visualisations.
Responsibilities
- Structuring historic financial data in Xero to feed into reports.
- Building bespoke reports on all business KPIs.
- Understanding how the business works and creating fit-for-purpose financial processes to support the growth of the business.
Educational Level/Experience:
- Qualified account.
- 5 years financial experience in the B2B world.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong levels of data literacy
- Experience working with growing companies to build financial processes
- Enthusiasm for entrepreneurial environments
- Strong understanding of Xero
- Commercial acumen and a track record of working alongside commercial departments
