Job description
Steeldeck Rentals is looking for self-employed Freelance Crew to assist our Installation Teams across the UK on an ad-hoc basis from May to September. Steeldeck Rentals has been providing creative, flexible and safe portable staging hire and tiered seating solutions to a wide range of events and productions for over 30 years.
The company is growing constantly and this is an exciting and vital time. We have branches in Manchester and London and due to our continued expansion, we are looking for hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our teams out on-site at various event venues, festivals and TV studios across the UK.
Duties will include:
· Assisting in the safe loading and unloading of transport vehicles
· Assembling and dismantling structures to a set plan with safety in mind at all times
· Working as part of a large team of crew to complete projects within set timescales
· Following processes and directions
Key attributes:
· To have the ability to think ahead to keep the build process moving smoothly
· To be able to maintain efficient and safe methods of working
· To be a good team member but also the ability to think as an individual
· Working within highly professional environments and conducting yourself accordingly
· Punctuality is a must as we work on strict schedules
The events industry isn’t just 9-5 and all applicants must be able to travel as needed and work at unsociable hours as required. Working with our product can be a very physical process and candidates should be aware of this.
A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle would be advantageous. It would also be desirable if you had an FLT or telehandler licence although this isn’t essential. This role is on a self-employed contractor basis only, so you will be responsible for your own taxes.
