As a Fraud Investigator, we’ll look to you to enable the efficient management of fraud risk. You’ll provide an expert investigative, consultancy and advisory service by analysing, researching, and evaluating fraudulent activity.
As a key member of our team, you’ll help to maintain, develop, and implement compliance in-line with legislative requirements, whilst minimising financial loss to Santander.

- Carrying out investigations into fraud committed both internally and externally, taking ownership of end-to-end customer claims across multiple portfolios
- Analysing and reviewing fraud risks/trends on products and services, supporting a culture where each colleague takes ownership for risk and management control
- Consulting and advising on potential weaknesses to mitigate risk to business areas
- Working pro-actively and using your own initiative, taking responsibility of the overall customer experience and ensures customers receive a professional and efficient service
- Ensuring that Santander / Santander Operations and its subsidiaries comply with their legislative obligations
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues by advising on the prevention, containment and detection of fraud
What you’ll bring.
- Must have previous experience of working within a fraud or risk-based environment, with good investigative skills and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and to own initiative, managing own workload whilst adapting quickly to change in a fast-paced environment
- You will require the right to work in the UK (please see details below)
It would also be nice for you to have.
- Report writing skills
- Specialist knowledge of a range of Santander products and services, with the ability to learn and adapt to new processes and workstreams
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and experience of investigating fraud or financial crime in a previous role
- The ability to manage multiple workloads/caseloads at any one time and prioritise tasks as required
What else you need to know.
This is a permanent role and will predominantly be based remotely however you will be expected to complete training in our Head Office sites in Milton Keynes and to attend the office on a weekly basis for meetings.
You must be able to commute into the office.
Operating hours are 35 hours per week, between 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
We will be conducting all interviews virtually via Microsoft Teams or via a video interviewing platform.
