Job description
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Operative to be trained up to become a fork lift driver and ultimately a VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) fork lift driver.
The successful applicant will initially join the company as a Warehouse Operative working in either goods in or goods out.
As a Goods In Warehouse Operative you would be responsible for unloading incoming deliveries both by hand and using a fork lift (once suitably trained and qualified) and for putting incoming goods away on to the racking in the warehouse and for updating warehouse systems to detail incoming stock and its location in the warehouse.
As a Goods Out Warehouse Operative you would be responsible for picking orders both by hand and using a folk lift (once suitably trained and qualified), for packing completed orders ready for dispatch, for completing relevant warehouse stock records and for helping to load outgoing orders both by hand and using a fork lift.
Whilst initially employed as a Warehouse Operative, it is expected that you will be trained up to drive either a Counter Balance or Reach fork lift and longer term will be trained up to drive a VNA fork lift which will offer an increase in salary.
This is a permanent role working 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday. Due to location candidates must have their own transport to get to and from work.
To be considered, candidates must have previous warehouse Goods In or Goods out experience, be physically able to stand throughout the working day and to walk relatively considerable distances.
A current fork lift licence or previous fork lift experience would be ideal but is not essential.
