Job description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Warehouse Forklift and Van Driver. This position involves handling warehouse operations, operating a forklift to load and unload goods, and driving a company van to transport products to customers and other designated locations. The ideal candidate should be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and possess excellent driving and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Forklift Operations: Safely operate a forklift to move, stack, and arrange goods within the warehouse.
Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling and securing of products.
Organize warehouse materials efficiently to optimize storage space.
Conduct routine inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance or safety issues.
Warehouse Duties: Assist in receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming shipments.
Pick and pack orders accurately based on customer requirements.
Conduct regular inventory counts and keep accurate records of stock movements.
Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse.
Van Driving: Operate a company van to deliver products to customers and other assigned locations.
Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries.
Ensure proper loading and securing of products in the van to prevent damage during transit.
Verify delivery orders with customers and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while operating the forklift and driving the van.
Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all traffic laws and regulations.
Perform regular safety checks on the van and report any issues promptly.
Follow company policies and procedures regarding warehouse and transportation operations.
Communication: Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery schedules and order details.
Report any delays, accidents, or incidents promptly to the relevant parties.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift or Reach operator's license and experience operating a forklift and reach driving
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience in delivery driving or distribution.
- Proven experience in warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of local traffic laws and routes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Salary: £12.00-£14.00 per hour
