Reports to: Operations Manager, Camp Director
Overview: Cascade Camps is a family run company that is friendly and lively. We run activity, adventure and sport experiences for children and young people. Our full-time and seasonal staff teams are full of energetic, motivated people who are passionate about what they do.
The ideal person for this role will be confident, good-natured, engaging, energetic and highly organised. They will have excellent communication skills and be very attentive to detail, safety, inclusion and fun.
Job purpose: To lead an engaging and safe Forest School Camp programme for children between 6-14 years old. This includes planning activities as well as managing the well-being and safety of all the children. This role will be based at one of our Hertfordshire based multi-activity day camp venues.
Key responsibilities of the Forest School Leader will include the following:
- Planning and delivering structured, safe, and engaging Forest School courses to children between 6-14 years old.
- Deliver a variety of outdoor activities which meet Health & Safety, legislative and Safeguarding standards, including but not limited to; shelter building, orienteering, fire making, and wilderness survival skills.
- Work as part of a team to ensure children are engaged in outdoor activities.
- Act as a role model to children; supervising and engaging with children at all times.
- Ensuring all equipment is in suitable condition for sessions.
- Maintain appropriate and accurate records.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Essential Attributes:
- Have forest school or bushcraft experience in an activity based environment.
- Excellent motivation and communication skills with children.
- Experience working with groups of young people.
- Ability to be professional at all times while ensuring children are engaged and having fun.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in the activity or childcare industry.
- Have a Paediatric First Aid certificate or other up-to-date first aid qualification.

Salary:
£450 - £600 per week - age, experience and qualification dependent.
Work hours:
08:45 – 16:45 hours (Monday to Friday).
