Forensic Services sits within the Serious Crime Division as part of Specialist Protective Services and provides dedicated scientific and technical forensic support to the investigation and reduction of crime across Greater Manchester.
The Forensic Services Section supports investigations and operations across the force dealing with the recording, recovery and examination of evidence from the crime/incident scene through to the court process.
In this role, you will provide an efficient reception service for Forensic Services; this will include responsibility for the receipt, accurate recording and safe storage of exhibits and evidence including items of property, fingerprint dockets and lifts and photographic evidence from crime scenes submitted for Forensic examination.
You will also ensure that all records either computerised or on paper are accurate and meet the requirements relating to ISO procedures, continuity, disclosure and Data Protection.
The security of the reception areas and stores must be ensured at all times as well as making sure the working environment complies with all Health and Safety polices and producers, including lifting, handling and transportation of equipment/ materials.
Please note that this is part time for 20 hours per week split across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 8 and 4.. The advertised salary is for the full time 36.25 hour position.
