Job description
We’re looking for a Site Foreman / Forewomen to join our Utilities team, supporting our UK Power Network Alliance in delivering deep underground power cables, overhead lines and substation infrastructure projects across the Power Networks regions. Project values typically range from £500k to £10m.
Location: based on site within the Eastern Power Network area of Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Responsibilities
As a Foreman / Forewoman, you’ll be supporting the UKPN team in things such as temporary works, installation of trench sheets, ducting, concrete works, large excavations as well as quality control documents and planning permits. You’ll mobile and flexible to cover a wide range of schemes across the operating areas. Primarily on site, the role may also involve off-site early project involvement during the scoping and budgeting phase (PSC).
Your day to day will include:
Working to support the Site Agent, Project Manager, Kier Utilities and the Alliance
Enforcing high standards on site(s) to maintain safe and effective delivery
Leading and supervising the work of mixed collaborative teams of various ADM direct labour and subcontractors
Setting people to work in accordance with UKPN HSS 01 015 and any SSoW or permit/LOA requirements
Completing and submitting Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
Supporting the Site Manager in his Principal Contractor responsibility where Kier Utilities is appointed under the CDM Regulations.
What are we looking for?
This role of Foreman / Forewoman is great for you if you have:
Proven experience in a similar role within the power or another utility sector
Demonstratable leadership of site teams and able to supervise and report against programme requirements (P6)
Excellent communication/leadership skills
Management experience of subcontractors and direct labour within a multi trade environment
