Operatives in the production area work in the pre-cook and post cook departments of the factory. Their role is integral to the day to day running of Matthew Walker by helping to meet, and even exceed, production targets set in accordance with the business plan.
Key Accountabilities
Key statements identifying the principal outputs required of the role
· Follow Health & Safety, Quality and Hygiene Standards, including SOPs
· Complete all reasonable tasks assigned by Leaders
· Support Line cleaning and walkaway standards
· Assist Line changeovers
· Ensure product quality and escalate any non conformances immediately
· Support all new colleagues with regard to integration into the team, area orientation and learning the job
Key Tasks
Overview of the key tasks that are undertaken as part of this role
· Pulling pallets of puddings to the wrapping lines
· Checking battery levels on the pedops
· Helping to load and unload retorts
· Palletising products by manually lifting
· Moving product in to storage using pallet truck
· Pulling Heavy filled bogies from filling department
· Pushing empty bogies to filling department
· Loading heavy buckets of sauce by hand on to bogies for heating
· Moving very heavy heated sauces in to filling department
· Organising heavy bogies in steam room (a lot of heavy pushing and pulling)
· Fetching required equipment
· Emptying bins
· Cleaning floors and equipment
· Helping other departments when possible
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: From £10.86 per hour
