GSM is a small food manufacturing company, based in the South Croydon area, providing a range of chilled food products to businesses/ customers across the UK. These positions are temporary to permanent

As a Food Production Operative you will need to have:

• Willingness to learn and want to progress your career
• The ability to work early mornings
• Previous experience working in a food production environment
• Good understanding of product safety principles, e.g. HACCP
• Working Hours : Monday - Thursday 05:00 - 10:00
• Guaranteed at least 20 hours/week.
• Location: South Croydon, CR0
• Duration: Ongoing

Role of a Food Production Operative:

• Assisting in the packing of all food products produced by GSM.
• Operating machinery and equipment as required for the above activity.
• Carrying out a variety of cleaning duties as directed.
• Assisting with the achievement of production targets.
• Demonstrating the competent application of good manufacturing practices required to consistently operate to high standards of food quality and food safety. ·
• Complying with Company hygiene policies and procedures when undertaking operations while maintaining high standards of personal hygiene.
• Working on the production line, packing products at the end of the line
• Checking the quality of the product
• Bagging items and preparing for dispatch
• Boxing and palletising of products.
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with the site hygiene, Health & Safety and GMP standards
• Complying with required internal & external specifications within a HACCP framework
• Maintaining appropriate records and documentation
• Participating and contributing to continuous improvement activities
• Assisting in the development of other team members
• Working flexibly across multiple lines

The successful candidates must have:

• The ability to work early mornings
• Previous experience working in a food production environment
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
• Good understanding of product safety principles, e.g. HACCP

Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: £9.50-£10.42 per hour
