Job description
We currently recruiting for a Food Production Operative to join our team working at our facility in South Shields. The successful candidate will work in our Meat processing room.
The role is a 12 month fixed term contract and successful candidates will work across our various departments and ensure regular supply of our products to both retail and wholesale customers. You will also ensure food safety and health & safety standards are met at all times.
On successful completion of our training programme you will have developed a good understanding of our policies and procedures and be able to deliver on the high standards we expect – this is a great foundation to build on and may lead to further progression opportunities within the business.
On completion of the training programme, candidates will use such equipment as the Mincer, Dicer, Flaker, Bowl Chopper, Sausage filler and a variety of knives.
Job Responsibilities include:
- To adhere and comply to all company Health and Safety policies and procedures to protect your own safety and that of your work colleagues.
- To achieve the required targets for your area to ensure factory targets are consistently met.
- To ensure that operating procedure and product specifications and recipes are adhered to at all times to produce a consistent and safe product for our customers.
- To make sure stock is rotated, handled and stored correctly in accordance with our Factory Quality Manual Instructions.
- To ensure that ingredients, packaging and product waste is kept to a minimum and that all waste is recorded. To ensure waste is segregated and disposed of as per Factory Quality Manual instructions.
- To ensure good site practices are maintained. Follow a’ clean as you go’ procedure for your work area to ensure the site is ‘audit ready’ at all time
- To maintain high personal standards of hygiene and follow the hygienic practices as laid down in the Factory Quality Manual and those required by law.
- To ensure cleaning procedures are adhered to ensure required level of cleanliness of plant and equipment.
- To undertake any training required to perform your duties.
- Ensure all Food Safety and compliance paper work relating to your duties is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working in Food Manufacturing/Production is essential. Candidates must be flexible, reliable and self motivated.
Working Hours
- Full Time - 6am to 2pm. Monday to Friday
