Job Title: Food Production Feed/ Porter
Location: Moulton Park, Northampton
Shift: Monday to Friday, Full time (45 contracted hours)
Hours: Flexible hours
Salary: £11-£22/ hour

Houghton Hams is a well-established, family-run, food production business which started in 1989, based in Moulton Park. Since the year 2000, Houghton Hams has rapidly grown and expanded. With customers and clients ranging from high end retailers to individual customers and food establishments, Houghton Hams went from having one building to now having four.
We supply to our customers nationally on a next day service. Products include, but not limited to, bacon, gammon joints, hams, and sausages.
Role and responsibilities
- Ensuring the correct work instructions are adhered to.
- Ensure the materials are supplied to the production lines in full and on time.
- Ensure the correct materials are used all the time according to required recipe.
- Paying particular attention to the quality of the products used. Reporting all non-conformities to the Supervisor.
- Ensure that correct GMP standards are maintain in working environment. General housekeeping.
- Working in accordance with Health and Safety.
- Handling raw materials.
- Cutting, slicing, shredding.
- Positive, “Can Do” attitude.
- Work towards and achieving targets.
- Cleaning machinery and equipment.
Key requirements (qualifications and skills)
- Experience working in a food environment is welcome (chilled environment), but not essential. Appropriate training will be conducted.
- Candidate must be flexible and hard- working, prepare to carry out manual handling.
- Being on time.
- Attention to details.
- Able to work under pressure.
