This is an exciting, fast-paced role, and you'll be joining a great team! We have various roles in our Front of House and Kitchen Production team. In the IKEA world, we call this role a Food & Beverage Co-Worker. CONTRACT INFORMATION• IKEA is a Living Wage Foundation Employer (£10.90 an hour as basic hourly rate).• This role will involve working 12 or 16 hours a week, and we may offer 20 hours a week, which can be discussed at interview.• This role will require availability to work 2 to 4 days through out the week (Monday to Friday), as well as weekends. • We offer advanced scheduling of roughly 4 weeks notice.• Flexibility on availability to be discussed during interviews. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVEWe are looking for someone like you to help us deliver a taste of Sweden and a great customer experience with high quality, sustainable food. You will contribute to a passionate and friendly team to deliver a better everyday life for the many, while embracing change with a solution-orientated mindset. This is an extremely fast paced working environment and requires you to multitask, producing and serving food with regular heavy lifting. Prior experience in food is desirable, but not essential if you have a 'roll up your sleeve' mindset to the various tasks and challenges that present themselves. If you have previous experience within a kitchen - for instance, in catering or food production, we want to hear from you! Due to Health & Safety regulations, applicants must be over the age of 18. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAYThe Kitchen and Restaurant is a safety-first, fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail for all things safety and efficient multi-tasking to ensure IKEA remains a safe place for people to shop, work and have fun. As a Food & Beverage Co-Worker, you will report to one of the Food Managers or Team Leaders and work alongside them in the kitchen or restaurant to help create a safe, healthy, delicious, sustainable, affordable, and joyful food experience for both the customer and the co-worker. FOOD & BEVERAGE CO-WORKER • Support in preparing and serving food to the many customers from breakfast time through to an evening meal.• Ensure a superb customer experience in our front-of-house area (including serving on tills, ensuring a clean, inviting and safe restaurant environment).• This is a physically demanding but rewarding job. You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy a varied role. KITCHEN PRODUCTION/CHEF CO-WORKER• You will be ensuring amazing food quality, so that our meals are served consistently.• You will work to produce food - including cooking large quantities of our Swedish meatballs.• You will work to minimise food waste, ensuring consistent portion control and upholding our commitment to sustainability.
