Job description – F&B Assistant
DoubleTree by Hilton Bath: Set on the banks of the River Avon in the beautiful Roman city of Bath and within walking distance to all the city's sites and attractions.
We are currently recruiting for an F&B Assistant to join our Truly Talented team.
General scope and purpose
As a Food and Beverage Assistant your focus is to create positively memorable dining experiences for our guests by serving customers to a consistently Outstanding standard. You will pay attention to the details, finding moments of delight for your customers that will highlight your commitment to the customer.
Our ideal candidate
The ideal person for this role will be a true epicurean – a food and drink enthusiast, who maintains a solid and up-to-date understanding of the restaurant and bar scene.
Have in-depth knowledge of wines, cocktails and speciality drinks and take pride in learning our food menu as well.
And enjoy engaging with guests, getting to know our regulars and learning to anticipate their needs.
You’ll work in a busy and hardworking team environment, where you’ll continually learn and develop.

The core skills and experience required to succeed
· Truly passionate about the Hospitality Industry
· Previous experience as a bartender in a busy environment
· Excellent personal presentation
· Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety procedures
· Ability to function independently with a minimum of supervision
· Excellent communication skills, the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
· To be an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach
· You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from all candidates.

Key responsibilities
- Ensuring that the Restaurant is clean and that all preparation is carried out to ensure a smooth. service for all guests and diners.
- Anticipating customers needs wherever possible, making menu recommendations and responding to. all queries, with customer satisfaction at the forefront of what you do.
- Complying with legislative and safety regulations.
- Supporting the achievement of quality and guest satisfaction goals.
- Keeping your knowledge up-to-date, enabling you to make recommendations to guests.
- A split shift (working breakfast and dinner) may be required.
- Assign and ensure work tasks are completed on time and that they meet appropriate quality standards
- Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
- Partner with and assist others to promote an environment of teamwork and achieve common goals.
- Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
- Handle sensitive issues with employees and/or guests with tact, respect, diplomacy, and confidentiality
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
- Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance
