As the Warehouse Manager's eyes and ears, you'll be managing the automated day-to-day operational product flows throughout the entire Distribution Centre.
In this busy role you'll tackle plenty of challenges. This includes order management throughout the automation system and identifying any risks/issues. We're investing in brilliant new distribution centres and first-class equipment. So, you'll have everything you need to keep things moving efficiently. We do things our own way at Aldi. But whatever we're doing, we must be getting it right. With a wave of impressive sales figures behind us, we're opening new stores at lightning speed. And without the great teams at our warehouses, there'd be no products in those stores.
Please note, the salary displayed is based on a 45 hours per week contract. Aldi are able to also offer 40 hour contracts and in these instances, the salary offered would be pro-rated.
Reporting to the Outbound/Low Bay Warehouse Manager this role will be responsible for managing efficient product flow through an automated distribution centre ensuring successful inbound and outbound deliveries. The Flow Planner will be responsible for order management and mitigation of any risks or issues that rise with the automation, such as equipment break down. Optimisation of the efficiency of product flows and ensuring effective resource planning to enable a successful operation.
Location: Bardon - Prior to the opening of Bardon, the role will be based within National Supply Chain at Atherstone National Head Office
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the automated day-to-day operational product flows throughout the entire distribution centre
- Reviewing orders to ensure continual flow of products, identifying risks, issues, and mitigating these where possible whilst ensuring communication with the cross functional teams to resolve in a timely manner
- Working closely with the transport team to ensure timely order fulfilment in line with outbound transport planning
- Monitoring upcoming work for the team and providing an estimate of future resource requirements and constraints
- Working closely with the Maintenance team to identify planned and reactive maintenance ensuring successful order fulfilment, maximum utilisation of equipment and optimum efficiency of the site
- Providing key information of affected operational flows to the appointed colleagues during day-to-day shift operation
- Analysing and forecasting in-shift and short-term people requirements based on daily throughput
- Order Management across temperature zones ensuring synchronicity
- Wave releasing of work via the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Interface with NIT/Maintenance vendors on software updates
- Capacity planning including highlighting capacity shortfalls and optimising low & high-volume productivity
- Ability to investigate, analyse challenges and offer operational solutions (both manual and automated)
- Collaborating on internal operational documentation and processes as required
- Responsible for stock transfer when technical issues arise
Key Deliverables:
- Managing the successful and optimal product flow throughout the entire site ensuring successful order fulfilment
- Ensuring all technical issues with automation streams are resolved in the provided timelines
- Escalating risks, issues, and concerns to the relevant teams in a proactive manner to ensure any operational issues with the product flow are resolved
- Ensuring each flow stream has the correct stock levels to fulfil daily demand
- Completing weekly status report/KPI reviews
- Ensuring all critical software is updated as and when required
- Source solutions and resolving any operational system issues throughout their shift

Skills & Qualifications:
