Job description
This role is a flexible role to cover both the day and night shifts and hours and will change between the two depending on the needs of the home.
The role will be able to provide emergency cover to anyone of the homes within the Cream Care group.
Shifts: Between 07:00 – 22:00 and between 22:00 – 07:00.
· Your main responsibility is to assist in the delivery of a high standard of care, keeping people safe at night and always managing people’s dignity and respecting everyone’s rights to be treated fairly and with respect.
· You will support residents with their medication including medication given via PEG
· You will Support residents with Stoma care
· You will support people to settle for the night, providing full personal care
· You will be responsive to each person needs and ensure their individual needs are met in full
· You will support people adhering to each person’s care plan and risk assessments, ensuring comfort and safety at all times
· You will fully record all interventions and note any concerns or changes in need, mood, physical wellbeing and report these to managers
· You will monitor people at night using a variety of tools to keep people safe, including audio and Video monitoring systems, Med page epilepsy alarms, movement alarms and call bells.
· You will support people to communicate their needs using their chosen means of communication including Eye gaze, eye pointing, abridged signing, symbols, photos, sounds, gestures, words and use their communication passports to help.
· You will support people to eat and drink supper and when thirsty/ hungry at night and when awake for breakfasts according to their eating and drinking guidelines.
· You will adhere to health & safety Act 1974 and GSCC Codes of Practice
· You will follow all company policies and procedures
· You will receive supervision and appraisals and have staff meetings
· You will be able to attend courses to enhance skills and provide knowledge through Cream.
· You will be a valued member of a supportive team.
· Be flexible to rotate between Night and Day shifts (rotas are planned 12 weeks in advance)
· Work between a variety of homes within out service.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £11.29-£11.60 per hour
