The Role
Sheffield Students' Union is proud to be a Real Living Wage Employer and we are looking for talented and enthusiastic University of Sheffield students to join our team. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, excellent customer service skills, the ability to work in a fast paced environment and enjoy working as part of a team. Experience is desirable but not essential, however a positive attitude and willingness to learn is a must!

We have a range of different roles available across a number of outlets. Details of the types of roles available are provided below, including the outlets that these roles are based in. Further details regarding our outlets are provided in the candidate pack.

Roles available
Bar staff
Interval Bar, Bar One
Our Bar roles are front of house roles
There are a range of shifts available and the role will vary slightly depending on the outlet, however serving food and drink to customers and providing excellent customer service is key in these roles.
Foundry Bar staff (Venues)
Foundry, Fusion, Studio
The majority of shifts are from 10pm-3am working the club nights such as Pop Tarts and Roar
Catering Assistant & Kitchen Assistant
Catering Assistant: Coffee Revolution, New Leaf, Proper Pasty
Kitchen Assistant: Coffee Revolution, Bar One, Interval Kitchen Bar, Central Production Unit
Our Catering assistant roles are involved in all functions required to ensure the outlets run effectively, including preparing food and drink and providing excellent customer service.
Kitchen assistant roles are back of house roles responsible for food production

Retail Assistant
Our Shop, Sheffield Store
As a retail assistant you would be based in one of our stores; Sheffield Store or Our Shop and you would be responsible for a range of sales and customer service duties that are required for the stores to operate successfully, including stock replenishment and delivering a high level of customer service.

We are an independent charity and work closely with the University to achieve a world-class student experience. Salary: £11.03 per hour + Holiday pay
Hours: Flexible (up to 18 hours per week)
