The Vehicle Group is a manufacturing and engineering business producing high quality robust Commercial Vehicle Safety & Security Technology. We work with some of the largest fleet operators both here in the UK and overseas.
We have a role for a knowledgable people manager who can drive performance across our infield operation.
The role of Fleet Support Operations Manager is to lead the team of Fleet Support Engineers and Team Leaders to deliver a customer centric, high quality in field operation.
Candidates must come from an auto electrician background and have the ability to understand and diagnose technical issues. knowledge of vehicle CAN is prefered.
This includes
- Delivering ‘right first time’ installations
- Delivering ‘First Fix’ service calls
- Champion TVG products
- Leading ‘First Fits’ on new builds.
- Support customer requirements, new roll outs, build plans etc.
- Attend build meetings
- Be the main point of contact for the internal teams ( Engineering, Service Desk, Installs and Sales)
- Support our customers with technical assistance ( new vehicle spec’s, chassis queries, operation of equipment kit, improvement, and fleet upgrades & new product enquiries of a technical nature)
- Coach, Lead and Mentor the performance of your team
- Support growth and personal development and monitor performance
- Carry out audits and encourage work to be audited on the spot to constantly improve the quality of work carried out.
- Manage with support from internal HR, people related issues, sickness, absence, lateness, disciplinary etc
- Conduct reviews and appraisals
- Train engineers and seek ways in which they can be trained on new products and development areas
- Recruitment of new engineers
- Onboarding of subcontractors and carrying out Subcontractor performance reviews
- Work with the Service Desk & Installations team to improve the operation and look for better working methods
- Ensure engineers complete timesheets, manage boot stock and complete job sheets, in full on time
- Seek new ways to run a better in field operation
- Manage RMA’s
- Manage Engineer Boot stock and its process
- Support In field resourcing issues
- Be present for technical issues in field
- Implement and manage KPIs as part of the wider TVG business performance
- Attend Head Office when needed for reviews, meetings, customer visits and training
- Any other duties as required by the business
This is a full time permanent role. You will be expected to carry out a range of travel.

Salary: £50,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
