- Ability to identify detailed aesthetic and horticultural issues within various estate landscapes.
- Knowledge of basic horticulture.
- Proficiency with selective hand pruning.
- Proficiency with organic fertilizers and disease treatments.
- Ability to direct and manage fine gardening crews on site.
- Aptitude for understanding and implementing general landscape maintenance.
- Prepare in advance for all future work, on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Conduct yourself and your work in an organized and professional manner.
- Communicate in a professional and reasonable manner at all times.
- Ability to collaborate with all team members.
- Ability to manage and direct fine gardening crews, irrigation techs and subcontractors in an efficient and professional manner.
FINE GARDENING MANAGEMENT
- Implement and oversee fine gardening practices within various estate landscapes.
- Provide high level of detailed landscape care within various estate landscapes.
- Perform and direct selective hand pruning.
- Oversee application of organic fertilizers and disease treatments.
- Communicate with clients regarding landscape efforts and gardening needs- both written and verbal.
- Schedule, manage and delegate clear direction to fine gardening crews while training and developing team.
- Uphold high level of quality detail by conducting routine site visits.
- Ability to troubleshoot plant diseases, pests, soils and fertilizer needs.
- Manage irrigation systems, maintain watering schedule and identify if an irrigation tech is needed.
- Order materials, supervise install and monitor costs and labor.
- Manage all administrative duties, including timesheets and schedules.
- Coordinate with construction team as necessary for project hand-off.
- Work with Estate Division Manager to identify and implement horticultural procedures.
- Work with Estate Division Manager and HR to identify staffing needs, hire and train staff.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the successful fine gardening efforts within various estate landscapes.
- Follow and enforce the guidelines set forth in the current F&G Employee Handbook.
- Manage and oversee multiple maintenance crews to ensure successful estate maintenance.
- Manage and oversee subcontractors and their work.
- Communicate with F&G team members in a timely manner. Return phone calls asap, reply to all emails within 24 hours, and texts within 4 hours.
- Communicate with all project team members in a timely manner. Return phone calls asap, reply to all emails within 24 hours, and texts within 4 hours.
- Submit timecards within given parameters.
- Code and submit all invoices and credit card receipts on a weekly basis.
- Immediately document and alert Estate Division Manager and safety officer to any unsafe working conditions/injuries, behavioral or procedural issues.
- Immediately document and alert Estate Division Manager and HR manager to any behavioral or procedural issues with personnel.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
