Job Description
-We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Reporting Accountant to play a pivotal role in ensuring on-time reporting of high-quality financial data. The ideal candidate will take full responsibility for analysing and consolidating financial data for monthly and quarterly reporting. You will form strong working relationships with senior stakeholders and finance teams across the business, and aid in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Execute accounting and reporting policies, standards, procedures, and timetables.
- Ensure that financial transactions and reporting are completed and submitted based on company and local statutory requirements.
- Assess financial data encountered, provide insightful analysis and commentary for senior management, and notify the finance teams of reporting issues and resolutions.
- Assist with the monthly consolidation process using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), thereby ensuring that consolidation journals are calculated and relevant postings are made.
- Prepare ad hoc accounting papers and provide analytical support to the Financial Reporting Coordinator and Group Financial Reporting Manager.
- Prepare audit schedules and ensure all audit schedules are up to date and are of the highest standard for interim and year-end audits.
- Contribute to accounting issues papers and audit committee reporting as required.
- Participate in Group-wide finance projects alongside liaising with external auditors.
Full JD will be provided at interview stage.
- Qualifications
-A minimum of at least one year PQE preferred - Educated to degree level with relevant accounting qualification, e.g., qualified chartered accountant.
- Experience of working on a group consolidation and interim and year-end reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Good understanding of financial modeling and operational mining knowledge advantageous.
- Experience with analysis and technical accounting matters.
- Familiarity with Internal Controls/SOX advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills as well as a good working knowledge of HFM and other relevant tools.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels across the business and externally
