Job Title – Financial Planning and Reporting

Job Purpose:
This new exciting and strategic role within the Research & Development Finance Planning, Decision Support & Analysis team will be pivotal to developing and adapting processes and systems in line with budget. As the Finance Manager you will be responsible for applying data and analytic capabilities whilst handling large sets of data from several different sources.
The role ensures that the R&D Pipeline decision makers are provided with appropriate decision support and analysis to enable effective decision making related to R&D pipeline investment and prioritisation.

Key Responsibilities:
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
- Prepare for R&D’s annual Investment Board (aPIB / aRIB) meetings from a financial data collection and consolidation perspective, as well as Finance presentation for aPIB / aRIB meeting.
- Prepare for monthly Investment Board (mPIB / mRIB) meetings, working closely with R&D Portfolio and Strategy, and R&D Finance Partners.
- Manage and control central investment funds.
- Complete the Update Cycles (LQE, MYE, Plan) from a financial data collection and consolidation perspective.
- Drive process improvement and standardisation across Research / Development. A continuous improvement mindset will be greatly appreciated.
- Forecasting for long term strategic initiatives and communication of strategic options; drawing on insight and working collaboratively with RDFLT, business leaders and external consultants.
- Provide analytics to answer business-critical questions received from VP R&D Finance, SVP R&D Finance, aligned R&D FDs and FMs (e.g. questions of cross-portfolio relevance, or requiring specific analytical expertise or data access).
- Collect month end commentary from R&D FD’s; question and challenge as appropriate; prepare for monthly performance updates for the Research / Development Lead Team.
- Drive simplification in processes and communications, while operating in a time and resource constrained environment.
