Job description
We have an exciting opportunity to join our small Team in Oxford as a Financial Planning Assistant and be part of our Financial Planning Academy professional development programme.
Who we are:
RBC Brewin Dolphin have great plans for expansion and want to be at the forefront of advice-driven financial planning. We're searching for an entry-level Financial Planning Assistant to join our team in Oxford.
We are one of the UK's leading Wealth Managers. We provide a range of innovative wealth and investment management services focused on addressing our customers' needs via a network of offices across the UK, Ireland, and the Channel Islands.
We can help you achieve your professional goals while also allowing you to make a unique contribution to our company. Our approach to career development is versatile; colleagues are encouraged to learn, take advantage of development opportunities, and be open to new experiences. We believe supporting our colleagues well fosters a positive culture that creates good outcomes for our clients.
What is our FP Academy?
Our Academy provides you with the opportunity to work alongside industry leading professionals, gaining in depth experience and excellent development, all whilst studying for your professional qualifications. It doesn’t have to be either/or, with our FP Academy you get both – a qualification and a career!
The combination of work experience and outstanding learning and development opportunities available within our Academy will equip you with a well-rounded skill set, that will enable you to build your career as a Paraplanner or a Financial Planner.
We'd love to hear from you if you’d like to advance your career with a company that will stretch and challenge you while giving the skills and experience you need to succeed.
What to expect?
Your first two years on the academy will be spent gaining experience and learning everything there is to know about financial planning. You'll learn about the client journey, report writing, different types of analysis and how to use our tools and processes. You'll also enrol in the CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, which will start your journey to becoming a qualified Paraplanner or Financial Planner. You will also gain additional skills through a variety of training programmes delivered by our apprenticeship provider and our fantastic Learning and Development team.
After your first two years, you will be able to specialise your development towards becoming a Paraplanner or a Financial Planner. We will support you to achieve your Level 6 Advanced Diploma, with ongoing development to support your career.
What you will bring:
- We don't require prior experience, but we are searching for dedicated individuals who are serious about creating a career in financial planning with us. We're making a significant investment in our future financial planning talent to help support and drive RBC Brewin Dolphin's growth, and we need you to be a part of it.
- RBC Brewin Dolphin has a collaborative culture, and you will collaborate with multiple teams both inside and outside your office during the programme. As a result, we value teamworking abilities.
- We’re looking for people who pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy throughout their work.
- Whilst client interaction will be limited initially, we are looking for those who have the abilities to succeed as their careers advance. We value good communication and people skills and a desire to build long-term connections with clients.
- We need you to have good time management skills because this is a demanding and varied role where you will often be managing many priorities while also studying.
- Through on-the-job experiences, learning and development, and qualifications, our Academy provides you with a continual learning path. We're searching for people that enjoy learning new things, seek out ways to expand their knowledge, and invest time in their studies. While challenging at times, we are confident that each exam you pass and every opportunity taken to learn will benefit you both personally and professionally.
