Are you an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis Lead looking for a new challenge with a FTSE listed company?
This is a Senior role available within our Financial Planning and Analysis team at Royal Mail, with responsibility for monthly management reporting and financial forecasting for the Group.
As Group lead you will be responsible for leading the financial analysis and planning processes for the Group (Royal Mail UK and General Logistic Systems combined). The Group lead is responsible for monthly management reporting and analysis to the UK Executive board and the plc Board.

About the role
Budgeting, Planning and forecasting. You will lead on the budgeting, planning and forecasting processes for the Group, including timetables. Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders involved in the budgeting, planning and forecasting processes including the ability to challenge and influence. Focus on continuous improvement to streamline the processes and drive efficiencies and ensure risks around the budget process are managed appropriately.
Month End Closure and Reporting -Responsible for monthly reporting of Group financial results, including validating the results, managing central journal postings, understanding and communicating key variances to senior business stakeholders. Leading the analysis of monthly results, providing explanations and insight on financial and non-financial variances while identifying key business messages and prepares high quality outputs.
In addition to the above you will work collaboratively with other FP&A team leads and Finance Directors, providing and receiving feedback to help improve the overall effectiveness of the FP&A and wider finance function. Guide analysts within the team to develop the delivery of required performance objectives.
About You
What you'll need to succeed in this role
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance related field.
- Qualified accountant.
- Work collaboratively with other FP&A team leads and Finance Directors, providing and receiving feedback to help improve the overall effectiveness of the FP&A and wider finance function.
- Significant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, preferably within a listed organisation
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written including ability to influence stakeholders at senior levels
- Ability to make good use of technical tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Thinkcell to create Board-ready outputs
