Job Advert Description

Accredited Financial Investigator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Accredited Financial Investigator within the Economic Crime Unit (ECU) based within the Mid Glamorgan area. The successful candidate will however be expected to work throughout the force area.

The Economic Crime Unit investigates the most complex, significant, and high-profile cases of fraud and asset recovery within South Wales, working in partnership with local, national and international forces, counter fraud agencies and public and private sector bodies.

The successful candidate must be suitably accredited or be prepared to undertake a detailed training programme to gain statutory accreditation (pursuant to Proceeds of Crime Act 2002) in financial investigation; some courses are residential and may be outside of the force area. Professional development will be supported by an experienced colleague and tutoring programme. This varied and rewarding role will allow the successful candidate to develop a wide-ranging skill set.

The role involves detailed investigation and dedicated casework preparation in support of criminal cases as well as all aspects of recovering the proceeds of crime and denying criminal use of finances using civil and criminal procedures.

Please note, if you are subject to an ongoing PSD investigation, you appointment or placement in the role may be delayed pending an outcome. Whether the role is held open will be considered on a case-by-case basis

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers.

(There may be further opportunities within the ECU and if you are successful at the interview stage but are not provided with the advertised role you may be suitable for a select list and will be considered for future posts within 6 months of your interview)

The successful candidate must be prepared to undergo vetting to SC / MV level.

For further information regarding this post please contact Acting Supervisor/Accredited Financial Investigator Jo Williams on 101 ext 50461 or 07817 014228.
