Financial Investigator - Inside IR35
Contract Term: 6 months (with possible extension)
Contracting Authority: National Crime Agency – Organised Crime Partnership
Location: Office based (Spring Gardens, London)
Job Purpose
The Organised Crime Partnership (OCP) conduct a range of covert proactive investigations against Organised Crime Groups causing harm to London communities.
This is a role that requires flexibility, determination and the highest levels of professionalism. The role is fast paced and often requires candidates to work extended hours at short notice and to be available for financial advice
The OCP is made up of NCA and MPS officers, candidates will be required to demonstrate flexibility in their working patterns, including on call and occasional weekend working, it is common to need to work extended and unsocial hours. Candidates will be required to work alongside MPS colleagues in support of operational, tactical and strategic objectives, through interaction with other NCA departments and teams, and also with external partners
As a Financial Investigator your main responsibilities would be:
- Providing full financial support to the four teams. Current priorities include, cash detentions & forfeitures, confiscation investigations and enforcement, restraint applications and all forms of cash and asset seizures.
- Developing Money Laundering investigations as well as utilising all POCA powers including Account Monitoring Orders to assist the teams where required
- Contributing towards a range of proactive and reactive investigations, including drug, firearms and money laundering offences with a good level of knowledge relating to evidential collection and disclosure obligations
You’ll have:
- Current Accreditation as a Financial Investigator
- Active SC Clearance
- An in-depth knowledge and use of relevant legislation affecting agency financial investigations.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines, work prioritisation and managing competing demands.
- Understanding of criminal justice and law enforcement techniques, investigative strategies and intelligence gathering.
- Experience of managing financial investigations within the judicial system and Crown Court
Desirable criteria:
- UK Full Driving Licence
- PIP 1 and/or 2
