WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

This role will report into the team manager of the Transaction Monitoring Analytics Team and will be required to deliver models to increase the efficiency of the bank’s financial crime control framework.
The team is tasked with several functions in relation to detection of potential financial crime. In this ‘hands-on’ role you will design and build statistical models for the detection of financial crime risk and build the required data preparation pipelines.
The difference you’ll make.
- Interacting with internal stakeholders in financial crime control operations, regulatory governance and front office on building scalable production systems and applications.
- Building reproducible data pipelines in a big data environment.
- Writing, testing, and maintaining production-quality code, and design, experiment, and evaluate algorithms, and models.
- Improving methodologies, develop new data sources, testing model enhancements, and fine-tuning model parameters.
- Producing and managing appropriate model documentation.
What you’ll bring.
- Proficiency of Python and/or R and SQL in a Big Data environment (essential).
- In depth knowledge of advanced analytics, supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques and proven commercial modelling experience (in Python).
It would also be nice for you to have.
- High level degree in a scientific/numerical discipline. (MSc, PhD or final year of Santander Data Science Apprenticeship studies).
- Experience with distributed computational frameworks (AWS, Impala, Hive, Hadoop, Spark)
- Knowledge of financial markets instruments.
- Experience in financial crime controls.
What else you need to know.
We will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.
This role offers hybrid working with an expectation to travel to the Milton Keynes office as and when required (2-3 days per week)
