We have an exciting role for a Financial Crime Advisory & Compliance Associate within the 2LOD. In this role you will be responsible for conducting assessments of Financial Crime risks (i.e. AML, financial sanctions) across the Corporate & Investment Bank business lines.
You will be providing sound technical advice to business teams and support functions, ensuring guidance is consistent and in compliance with Financial Crime regulations and policy requirements.
You will be instrumental in shaping and implementing the Financial Crime compliance risk framework, to aid the business in identifying and mitigating Financial Crime risks associated with existing and prospective customers, products, and services.
This role resides within Santander Corporate & Investment Bank (santandercib.com), the investment banking division for Santander.
What you’ll bring.
As a second line of defence, reviewing referrals primarily from first line teams (e.g. RAC, CIB desks) and providing risk proportionate assessments of Financial Crime concerns relating to clients, products and services
Ensuring the bank’s compliance with financial crime regulatory and policy requirements covering key elements of CDD, anti-money laundering, sanctions compliance and anti-bribery & corruption
Recommending and/or overseeing actions required to mitigate financial crime risks identified within the client portfolio and producing high quality reports to manage financial crime risk
Managing case referral intake, tracking and creating MI to identify risks and trends
Supporting Change Management programs and internal policy development as a financial crime compliance subject matter expert
What you will have.
Prior experience in financial crime risk and advisory roles, including AML and Financial Sanctions, preferably gained in a CIB environment; and knowledge of relevant regulations (UK, EU, US), regulatory guidance and industry standards
As well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, good understanding of Corporate & Investment banking products/services and associated FC risks
It would also be nice for you to have.
Experience with an international client-base
Good understanding of the wider financial crime risks, such as Fraud and Anti-Bribery and Corruption
Excellent influencing skills and experience recommending solutions to management
