Financial Control Analyst
Glasgow
As Barclays Financial Control Analyst, you will join the team, assisting in the financial control and reporting function for elements of the Barclays UK business. Your accountabilities include delivering timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting for Barclays subsidiaries and branches and meeting the statutory and regulatory requirements of the entity boards, regulators and external auditors.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month, or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally can request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. • Engaging multiple areas outside Finance to obtain a solid grasp of the end-to-end control framework and any key control exceptions in other areas
- Maintaining effective Financial control of area, ensuring effective communication and stakeholders expectations managed
- Ensuring monthly control cycle timelines and deadlines are met, including journal posting, month-end close, reconciliations, and control reviews
- Creating escalation and investigation into risks and areas of concern
- Liaising with operations teams to help remediate any errors or concerns highlighted through monthly/daily controls on a timely basis
- Supporting line manager and team on development of new or amended team processes and deliverables following project changes and ensure these changes are understood
- Assisting the business and line manager with providing financial assistance for the implementation of new products and manage any end-to-end changes for finance
- Working with stakeholders across Business, Functions and third parties as well as the external auditors
What we’re looking for:
- Good tertiary level qualification such as 2:1 degree or equivalent
- Solid social skills and stakeholder management
- Analytical abilities
• Financial Service experience preferred
- General awareness of Financial Services
- Enthusiastic and proactive approach to problem solving and change
- Solid excel skills
