About the Role
The Financial Analyst position is a broad based role supporting a key portfolio of IT activity. The post holder will assume responsibility for financial processing, analysis, reporting and planning across service streams within their portfolio. This includes business as usual activity, maintenance and minor improvements, and digital transformation initiatives. The post-holder will support the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager and the Project Finance Manager by maintaining accurate accounts, producing insightful data analytics and reporting, collating and challenging financial plans, and forging strong relationships with stakeholders across IT Services and the wider University.
About You
To be successful in this varied and interesting role you will need to have completed/near completion of your accounting qualification or have equivalent professional experience. The role demands a confidence in your ability to convey complex financial terminology and concepts to non-financial colleagues. Having an inquisitive mindset, and an ability to convert data into insightful narratives, will enable the post-holder to identify, challenge, support and convey potential opportunities and threats to a variety of stakeholders. The post-holder will develop a close partnership and deep understanding of the service streams within their portfolio. An ability to plan and prioritise workload is key to succeeding in this position because the competing demands and numerous stakeholders involved.
