Job description

We are seeking a New Grad - Finance Analyst, Acquisitions to join our team in Winnipeg in a fast-paced, M&A function.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, Acquisitions, the Finance Analyst, Acquisitions will play an important role within the Company’s fast-paced Merger & Acquisition (M&A) functions. The primary function of this role will be supporting financial and operational due diligence processes through financial analysis, assisting in preparing reports, summary memos, and various internal transaction related communications. Additionally, the Finance Analyst, Acquisitions will support post-acquisition activities including working capital audits, purchase price allocations, and valuation of intangible assets. This individual will be expected to build and maintain relationships with operational management teams and the Corporate Development team, as well as work effectively with cross-functional support teams.

The Finance Analyst, Acquisitions will:

  • Assist in preparing analyses for potential business acquisitions including financial modelling, forecasting, and quantification of potential revenue and expense synergies.
  • Organize and effectively communicate receipt of deal room data to key members of the diligence team.
  • Support both internal teams and external advisors in performing financial due diligence.
  • Assist in preparing operational due diligence reports, outlining key risks and findings from various streams of operational review.
  • Assist in organization and project management aspects of the M&A transaction process.
  • Support the M&A integration planning and handoff process by identifying, organizing and communicating information obtained through due diligence to internal stakeholders through standard documentation and reporting procedures.
  • Build, manage, and maintain internal resources for financial analysis and benchmarking.
  • Stay abreast of best practices, industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with internal deal team members, external advisors and target company management.
  • Contribute to a team-oriented working culture that fosters personal development and a positive environment.

To be successful as a Finance Analyst, Acquisitions with People Corporation, you will need:

  • Completed post-secondary education with accounting or finance major
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced and high-growth environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, high organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of information.
  • A strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

All-star candidates will have:

  • Completed post-secondary education with a double major in accounting and finance.
  • In progress of achieving, or is interested in commencing, the Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
  • Intern or other work experience
