9 Month fixed term contract
Reporting to the Record to Report (RTR) Team Lead, this is a General Ledger Accountant role within the Finance Shared Services Centre (FSSC) in Manchester, UK. As a team we work from the office two days a week and remotely for the rest of the week.
The Finance Analyst will initially support the RTR Team Lead in the project to expand the current shared services footprint across the core transactional accounting area of Record to Report. This is an important FSSC role working with finance teams in the local business to provide a high-quality service is delivered. You will complete accounting activities for departments in designated regions. Activities include processing journal entries, completing reconciliations, maintaining relevant department general ledgers, fixed assets accounting and closing activities.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of accounting activities.
- Complete accounting activities such as journal entries, general ledger / sub-ledger and account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, intercompany accounting, other account analyses and department closing activities and submit results for consolidation.
- Post adjustments, accruals and other types of journal entries observing financial standards and controls framework.
- Complete closing activities following the close calendar and checklist.
- Complete treasury management activities such as bank account and cash reconciliations.
- Promptly respond to information requests from all partners.
- Contribute to internal and external audits requests for information.
- Ensure compliance with internal finance policies and external statutory regulations. .
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
- Part qualified accountant with 1 or more years of experience in Finance.
- Knowledge of general accounting and reporting processes.
- Experience making accruals, prepaid expenses, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, other closing activities.
- Good Excel skills (can perform complex functions)
- Experience working in a Shared Services environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Oracle
