Our Renewables Team deploys Vitol and our partners’ capital in renewable energy investments on a global basis and across value chain.
The team originates and executes investments across Energy Transition, with key focus on renewable generation assets, portfolios and companies and ancillary energy space with the goal of growing the business into a Global Renewables Platform through purposeful choice of investments and deployment of capital. The group works with senior leadership within Vitol, our joint venture and industry partners, and managers of our portfolio companies to design ways of growing the business, and supporting a company’s business strategy.
We are building Vitol’s Renewables Team to drive Vitol’s investments into Energy Transition and Renewables in EMEA / APAC and we now need an Investment Associate/ Assistant VP to add further bandwidth to the team to identify, evaluate and execute strategic and tactical investment opportunities. This is an exceptional opportunity to join new team shaping Vitol’s positioning in Energy Transition space.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Provide initial investment review and screening of prospective investment opportunities
- Building and maintaining detailed financial and valuation models
- Creating presentations for investment proposals and other purposes
- Delivering first class analysis, insight and research on potential investment opportunities
- Coordinating and conducting due diligence on prospective investment opportunities
- Monitoring existing portfolio companies
- Supporting senior colleagues as required
Qualifications and Experience
- Ideally completed a degree in a technical discipline with an outstanding academic record
- Strong education background
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an analytical role ideally 3 of those years spent in a top-tier global financial institution or 3 yrs in a private equity fund focusing on the energy space across the value chain – notably in the energy transition and mobility space or mid and downstream segments. We would also consider strong candidates from other disciplines provided they have a real interest in energy and energy transition
- Strong quantitative, analytical skills, excel and power point capabilities
- Experience in industry due-diligence and financial modelling
- Participation in investment banking training program is an advantage
- Understanding of global energy markets preferred
