Electricity North West currently has opportunities within our finance team for three graduate Finance Trainees, providing exposure to different areas of the finance function and study support for a professional finance qualification (CIMA or ACCA). The finance function leads and advises on the overall strategic and operational management of Electricity North West, providing a range of services to the business covering performance analysis, critical insight and decision support. We aim to deliver exceptional service to our customers and stakeholders at an efficient cost.


Our role


You will work within an experienced team and receive mentoring from senior finance professionals. The Finance Trainee role will provide you with an opportunity to gain experience and make an impact in the following areas:


  • Support the month end process and the production of management accounts for internal and shareholder reporting
  • Support the annual financial reporting process and the completion of Ofgem returns
  • Involvement in the annual budgeting process working with finance colleagues and other key stakeholders around the business to develop accurate forecasts
  • Work closely with stakeholders from across the business to provide financial analysis and decision support to ensure a high quality financial control environment and support improvements in business performance.


To apply for this accountancy role, you should hold a degree level qualification of 2-1 or above in a relevant discipline. You will also require the following:

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with the ability to logically process and interpret data
  • The ability to work well in a team as well as independently and proactively, driving projects and activities to a successful conclusion
  • The ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation and influence accordingly
  • Results-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities well
  • Good communication skill
  • Comfortable with the use of computer systems and applications, in particular MS Office.
