About The Role
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, to work in our busy and challenging team. The team is responsible for reconciling all income and expenditure within the Council’s account and you will be responsible for providing accountancy support and assistance. Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Officer, your role will be varied and include preparing key system reconciliations and statutory returns.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation of statutory and non-statutory returns, including VAT and CIS.
2. Perform a wide range of corporate reconciliations, including cash and payroll.
3. Prepare and reconcile data files interfaced to the ledger.
4. Update and review changes to financial and cash management systems.
Your Skills:
1. Sound understanding and experience in book-keeping, accounting and data entry.
2. Demonstrate good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills relevant to the role.
3. Competent in the use of information technology, in particular word and excel based applications and financial systems.
4. Knowledge and understanding of financial processing and management, operating systems and internal control mechanisms.
Professional Qualifications:
Achieved or working towards an AAT level 3/4 qualification.
