The Role

Patchwork’s Finance Officer is a pivotal role within the Finance Team, and is responsible for a broad range of imperative finance operations activities.

This role will be supporting everything from processing payroll, invoicing customers, managing our working capital and employee expenses platform. This will require broad experience in operational finance, as well as the ability to find scalable solutions that meet Patchwork's needs.

We are looking for someone who is commercially and technically diligent, and able to work and thrive in an autonomous environment to help us build a best in class Finance Team that is capable of supporting and enabling a rapidly scaling business.

Key Responsibilities

    • Working collaboratively with the wider Finance Team to develop company systems and processes, blending best practice with agility to provide scalable and effective solutions.

    • Assisting with all Finance Ops activities including payroll, AR/AP, invoicing, timesheet tracking, and expenses. Working closely with the Finance Manager and external Bookkeeper to improve and implement solutions that meet Patchwork’s needs.

    • Assisting the Finance Manager in preparing monthly budget variance analyses, and other financial reporting requirements keeping to cadence requirements, including annual accounts and quarterly tax returns.

    • Supporting and collaborating with the wider Finance Team on the maintenance of financial forecasts, and helping to ensure well-informed assumption and anticipation of short and long term business needs, whilst working flexibly to enable different teams.

Requirements

Essential

    • Demonstrable experience working in finance.

    • Proven ability when it comes to analysis, and intermediate Excel skills.

    • Confident in business principles and practices.

    • Proven track record of working in an autonomous environment.

    • Proven business partnering ability, and able to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

    • Demonstrable experience in regularly meeting deadlines.

Nice to Have

    • Part qualified or actively working towards accountancy qualification.

    • Experience working in a start-up/scale up environment.

    • Experience working within Healthcare, or in a fast paced SaaS or Marketplace environment.
