Job description
Siemens is creating its first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire. With an initial contract to assemble over 50 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit up to 300 skilled technical and support colleagues in our Manufacturing Facility.
In the near future follow-on work is expected to bring this number of trains into the hundreds, along with an expansion on the site into maintenance and overhaul activities displaying a long-term commitment to the area and growth in employment and career opportunities.
You will make an impact:
- This role will have a direct impact on the financial performance of the Assembly Facility and efficiency of the operation now and into the future.
- You will directly monitor the costs of manufacturing, ensuring that the cost model is adhered to, and variances are identified and resolved.
- You will partner closely with the Heads of Department to ensure that financial performance is in line with expectations and to identify current or future efficiencies, you will assist in development of budgets.
- You will be a crucial member of the team to ensure that the site remains a viable operation and develop models and processes that enable future contracts to be delivered with minimal waste and inefficiency.
- You will directly report to the assembly facility Performance Manager working alongside two Commercial Project Mangers with your own identified areas of responsibility.
You will demonstrate:
- Suitable experience of operating as a Finance Manager within similar operations.
- Fully Qualified or working towards CIMA or ACCA professional Qualification.
- Cross border financial control
- Expert User of SAP, Excel and PowerPoint
It would be beneficial to have:
- Working knowledge of Qliksense, Tableau, Knime and Power Bi would be an advantage paired with a real mindset for change involving automation and a flair for Digital solutions.
- Degree Qualified, similar level professional qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing or industrial environment
