Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager – Digital, this Finance Manager will be a strong business partner to the Digital Trading & Customer Services teams, leading business insight that drives profitable growth. This role will lead the provision of high-quality commercial support for online sales across all countries globally & will present information concisely back to business partners in a way that drives clear tangible actions.
As a Finance Manager you will:
Partner with key business functions across head office to provide effective challenge and support across cost and revenue performance.
Support decision making via the provision of clear and detailed financial analysis on financial performance including recommendations and insights.
Proactively develop solutions to and be confident in challenging business thinking.
Develop reports clearly understood by non-financial people.
Prepare the weekly and monthly commentary for distribution to wider business and executive team.
Ensure timely and accurate production of balance sheets with complete monthly reviews and signoff.
Pro-actively identify and highlight risks & opps across the Digital P&L to senior management and be able to clearly model their impact on sales & profit.
Support business decision making via ad hoc analysis and reporting.
Participate in ad hoc projects where required providing sound financial analysis and clear decision-making support
Work with business partners to deliver challenging but achievable financial targets.
Ensure detailed line level targets are accurately phased and understood by business unit owner
Produce clear and concise summary of budget detail to be presented to senior management.
Ensure delivery of budgets and forecasts in line with required timelines
Support delivery of reforecasts and long-range planning.
Identify and implement actions to improve quality and timeliness of financial information within their area.
Support in the identification and delivery of systems and process automation efficiencies that provide cost effective solutions and improve customer service.
Plan, prioritise and deliver work in a way that meets or exceeds business requirements and customer expectations.
Ensure consistent high-quality approach is applied to the departments deliverables;
Develop team members to have a curious and inquisitive mindset as well as instilling a strong focus on quality and correctness.
Support team member development through both on the job feedback / coaching and more structured 121 conversations.
Work with Finance Managers across the wider finance team to identify and implement actions to support overall team cohesion and development.
The Ideal Candidate
A qualified Accountant (preferably CIMA or equivalent).
Able to take accountability for their own development plan as well as coach and guide direct reports with theirs.
Able to understand and articulate both financial and non-financial implications of business performance providing balanced and clear recommendations.
Either a strong retail background or experience working within a fast paced, commercial environment.
Able to work under pressure, manage a diverse and competing workload ensuring deadlines are met.
Comfortable working closely with business stakeholders with the ability to challenge up to Director level.
Able to effectively manage team planning and prioritising workload up to 6 months in advance
Good communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support business decision making.
Analytical and excel modelling skills with strong attention to detail.
Able to drive own initiatives through to completion.
Able to develop and improve working procedures and processes.
Highly organised and efficient.
Commercially aware and customer focused.
Verbal and written presentation skills with ability to adapt style based on audience
Flexible, open to change and proactive.
