Job description
This position is to work within a large family run arable and fruit growing business as well as associated businesses located near Ross on Wye.
As the Finance Manager you will be reporting ultimately to the owners/directors to have full financial oversight of the group’s businesses. The role will also involve working with other members of the administrative and management team to include an assistant which the candidate will be responsible for managing.
The role will involve but not be limited to:
· Responsibility for payments and cashflow control
· Managing company bank accounts
· Communication with banks, contractors, suppliers, accountants etc.
· Production and evaluation of management accounts
· Preparation and submission of VAT returns
· Weekly bank reconciliation
· Preparing Year End Accounts
· Detailed Cost Analysis
· Improving Efficiencies across the business, working alongside the owner in research and implementation of business plans and expansion
The candidate will be expected to be forward thinking in order to introduce new and improved working practices and technology to improve the functions of the business.
Key skills and knowledge the candidate will have:
· Previous experience with accounting and business management systems
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent Microsoft Office user knowledge (esp. Excel)
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Attention to detail
· Organisational skills
· Ability to manage own workload
· Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
· Enthusiasm and can-do attitude
This is a full-time position, 39 hours a week. Training will be given to assist the candidate in familiarising them with the office systems.
Experience in agriculture preferred but not essential.
A competitive salary package will be offered to the final candidate relative to experience.
