Finance Manager - Inside IR35
Contract Term: 12 Months
Contracting Authority: Department for Digital Culture, Media Sport
Location: London/Manchester – Remote
As a Finance Manager your main responsibilities would be:
- You will play a key role in providing expert financial advice and support to the Future Networks Programme team. You will champion best practice and lead others to improve their own financial knowledge and capability.
- You will assess grant claims to ensure the effective use of public funding and ensure all expenditure is in scope of our spending rules. Establishing good relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be key to this strand.
- You will run essential due diligence checks on organisations before we enter commercial arrangements, to help manage our exposure to financial risk.
- You will have oversight of our audit documentation to enable the team to respond quickly to all requests for auditable financial information.
- You will be instrumental in assembling, analysing and communicating financial information to a wide range of audiences to support high quality decision making across the team. Key reports will include analysis of project cashflow, expenditure and forecasts.
You’ll have relevant experience in:
- Highly numerate, analytical and problem solving skills
- Confident with Microsoft Excel and, ideally, Google Sheets and wider G Suite environment
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Proven ability to establish relationships with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively
- Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Determined, resilient and ability to work well under pressure
- Able to operate in a fast-paced delivery environment
- Confident with using Excel. Ideally you will be familiar with functions such as vlookup, pivot tables and other Excelformulas.
- Confident with numbers and able to perform quick analysis of numerical data.
- Some academic background relevant to finance, e.g. maths, business studies or accounting
