37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday (some overtime may be required)

Established for 40 years, we are a construction company based in Portsmouth, who design and build both residential and commercial spaces. With an annual turnover of £50M+, our projects range from £5M to £40M and run from concept through to completion. What are we looking for
We are looking for a professional, experienced Finance Manager to join our busy team. You will have previous experience of working in a similar role within the construction industry, including experience of using Sage 50 Accounts. You will have full working knowledge of both the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and reverse charge VAT. In your role, your duties will include:
- Sales ledger (£50M+ turnover)
- Sales invoices
- Debtor Management
- Bank reconciliations
- Cash flow management and forecasting (daily)
- Management accounts preparation (quarterly)
- HMRC – VAT return (monthly)
- HMRC – CIS return (monthly)
- HMRC – Sub-contractor verification (via Sage)
- CITB – levy return (annually)
- Sub-contractor payments (including reverse charge VAT)
- Supplier and ad-hoc payments
- Petty cash
- Retentions control
- Job costing/reporting
- Audit preparation
- Liaising with auditors, banks and statutory organisations
- Other ad-hoc accounts duties, as required
What skills will you bring
- 3 years + experience in a similar construction industry role
- Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts (including the CIS module)
- Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and reverse charge VAT
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Flexible approach and ability to adapt as priorities change
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail, with a strong focus on due diligence
- Ability to work well under pressure, and as part of a team
