The Company
BWTUC Trading Ltd is a small to medium-sized independent company in the events/hospitality sector, working at outdoor events focused in the summer months’. The company also run a pub/venue/theatre in South London that is open seven days per week.
BWTUC Trading Ltd has traded since 1985 at many well recognised outdoor music events in Britain and Ireland. The company now trading as Events Bars and Catering is focused on one large outdoor event, and some smaller shows, plus trading at its well established and recognised premises business.
The Role
BWTUC Trading Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager (either full time or part time) to join their team, based in London. The successful candidate will provide sound accounting and financial advice and support to management to make financial decisions for the business and affiliated companies. BWTUC Trading Ltdare looking for candidates who want to work for a small intimate business and who can grow with the team.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
· operating and overseeing day to day financial operations, transactions and systems
· preparation of management accounts to be produced as and when required but typically for management committee meetings and after festivals
· production of cash flow forecasts for the whole company
· managing the annual compliance process including accounts preparation and corporation tax
· managing the banking arrangements and set up of payments for the Executive Vice Chair to approve
· managing the recruitment of staff for the finance team and supervision of staff
· overseeing the central finance function at events, reviewing takings by bar, overseeing card and cash counting, reconciling takings and float, and producing reports
· reconciliation of cash and card transactions with onsite paperwork and banking statements
· working closely with the Executive Vice Chair to liaise with the bank and accountants as required
· Preparing annual accounts for examination and liaise with the accountant as required
· processing VAT returns, bank reconciliation, budgets and purchase orders
· overseeing and managing debtor and creditor ledgers and payments
· processing payroll
· producing and presenting monthly management accounts for affiliated companies and subsequent running quarterly reports
· preparing yearly overhead budgets, payroll and cash flows to present to management and Board meetings as required
· managing and maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies to include VAT; Companies House and PSA by producing relevant documentation in a timely manner
· monitoring aged debtors and creditor accounts, payments, successfully resolving any disputes
· maintaining asset register and stock take inventory
· managing and overseeing the finance team at events
· changing access / authorisation / signatory at banks
· organising credit cards and debit cards in conjunction with the Executive Vice Chair
· reconciling on-site takings with paperwork, banking and working with Admin Onsite Manager
· overseeing and managing members of the financial team ensuring timely and accurate financial application and procedures
· managing production, expenses and staffing petty cash
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
Required:
· qualified or part qualified Accountant
· general finance background
· relevant experience with budgeting and payroll
· strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
· the ability to work in a fast paced environment
Desirable
· previous experience with Sage software
