Job description

Our partner supports mothers in providing early childhood care and development to their children. They are seeking a Finance Manager to join their global finance team; the role will support in the smooth running of the finance function. This is a newly created post and comes at an existing time where the organisation is embarking on an ambitious programme of growth, as they look to scale their programme.

Responsibilities

  • This role will be responsible for developing a strong control environment and risk framework, strengthening processes and policies around day-to-day accounting, financial and grants management, and ensuring that UK and country staff adhere to these.
  • Lead the internal audit process.
  • Support in the annual and grant audit preparation and in implementing audit recommendations.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day accounting for the UK office, covering recordkeeping, processing payments, undertaking bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with payroll and other administrative tasks.
  • Producing monthly management accounts, including undertaking BVA analysis.
  • Support the Head of Finance in creating annual budgets, forecasts and re-forecasts, in undertaking strategic planning, and in preparing consolidated reports for the management team and board of trustees.
  • Travel to the country offices.

Requirements

  • Qualified or PQ accountant with at least three years of relevant all-round accounting experience, covering the development of controls & processes, management accounting & analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting and knowledge of charity SORP.
  • Intermediate to advanced MSExcel skills, and comfortable using cloud-based accounting software.
  • Experience of working in a global organisation with multi-currency and multi-country programmes.
  • Able to manage a varied workload.

This role is remote (in the UK and therefore only open to candidates with the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship), with travel to country offices in Africa.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £40,000.00-£420,000.00 per year
