Our approach to flexible working
We care about work that works, whether that’s about where you work or adjusting your hours to fit better with your life. Our flexible working practices, including our hybrid working model where you can split your working time between the office and your home, support our belief that this balance brings long-lasting benefits for our business as well as ensuring that our people can balance successful careers with their commitments and interests outside of work. So that you can love where you work, please discuss what works for you with your recruiter during the hiring process.
Accepting you, for you.
We want you to feel accepted for who you are and to feel safe, valued and to help us build a culture of true belonging. Experian is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and we take affirmative action to create a more inclusive and equitable world of work. We are committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, race, ethnicity, faith or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, Veteran status or whether you’re pregnant or on family leave.
A ‘Finance Graduate’ role within Experian’s Group Financial Reporting (GFR) team is an exciting role where you will work closely with a global team and have direct exposure to senior leaders.
This role will work on various projects, with exposure to all key workstreams such as internal and external reporting, assurance, technical accounting advice and controllership excellence. This role will build breadth of knowledge across a wide range of finance and related processes. You will gain exposure to some interesting areas of finance not normally envisaged in a typical reporting role!
Day to day as a Finance Graduate, you could be:
-
Involved in a wide range of projects where the team are representing finance to achieve broader operational outcomes, for example Future of Work and early Carbon Neutral initiatives.
- Advising and guiding colleagues on financial considerations relevant to these projects, many of whom may not have a financial background.
- Performing deep analysis of the impacts of projects including costs and savings, tax and budget impacts, liaising with wider finance teams and senior management
- Involved in supporting the audit relationship with our auditors, including planning of reporting, fee arrangements and internal progress reporting against targets. This will provide a strong understanding of the annual reporting cycle and key compliance requirements.
- Assisting with the preparation of content and analysis for external reporting, including working with regional controllership teams to identify any early issues in the reporting cycle.
- Supporting the wider project team which may include exposure to acquisitions and divestments, entity restructuring and rationalisations, ventures and associate holdings.
In this role, there’s a significant amount of cross-over with complex areas such as tax, treasury and legal requiring you to demonstrate the right level of professional scepticism. If you are a dynamic graduate, with good judgement and an ability to problem solve, this role could be for you!
As part of this graduate programme, you will also study towards your fully funded ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification through a level 7 apprenticeship, which will take 3 years to complete.
If you choose to join us, you’ll receive industry training, wide-reaching career opportunities and a wealth of support through our Early Careers Network, buddy, line manager & mentor scheme. You’ll also join onto our structured Graduate programme, which is packed with workshops, short-courses & online material designed to help kick-start your career.
Our concept is simple. We believe in expanding horizons – it’s what makes Experian a global leader and a Top UK Tech Employer.
To be eligible to join this Graduate Programme, you’ll need:
- To have recently achieved or be on track to achieve a minimum 2:2 degree classification in a related field.
- To have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least 3 years prior to starting the apprenticeship and have permission from the UK government to live in the UK (not for educational purposes) or have obtained pre-settled or settled status under EUSS. This is due to UK government apprenticeship funding rules.
Due to the technical nature of this role, a Bachelor’s degree in a numerical course is preferred (eg. Accounting & Finance / Maths / Data Analytics). If you don’t have a degree in those fields, that’s ok. If you have a real passion for finance and can demonstrate an understanding of how you would support a team and deliver results, we’d love to hear from you.
It’s important to have the ability to adapt quickly to requests and work under pressure. You’ll also need strong relationship building skills and be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
