Financial Controller - Banking, Central London - £110,000 - £120,000 FTC

We’re currently recruiting for this UK challenger Bank and this particular role will suit a seasoned Controller with lots of Year End and Audit experience as we will be asking this person to manage the relationship with the Auditors and take responsibility for Year-End, under the direction and support of the Group FC and FD.

This is a fixed term contract for 9 months, within a very supportive and flexible environment. Based in Central London with 2 days a week in the office.

The role:

Is largely about managing the Finance team through year end and leading the production of the Statutory Accounts and the relationships between the Bank and Audit providers.

Key Duties:

• Preparation of annual Audit and be the first line of communication with the Auditors
• Develop the Banks reporting framework, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
• Responsible for Statutory Accounts and external reporting
• Responsible for the monthly consolidation process
• Drive consistency in accounting policy implementation
• Implement major IFRS projects and other changes
• Present to senior management a basic understanding of certain accounting policies or issues
• Provide accounting advice to senior managers across the Group
• Lead the external audit process
• Manage and review your team, including annual reviews, training and development.

About You:

• ACA, CIMA or ACCA Qualified with 10 years PQE experience
• A background in Banking
• Experience in a Statutory Reporting and Controls based role within banking
• An enthusiasm of making things better and a supportive, considerate and empathetic member of the team
• An ability to communicate at Board level
