The energy transition is critical to delivering a net zero carbon future and National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) is at the centre of the transition. We're seeking a Finance Business Partner to support, challenge and drive the strategic and financial decisions and priorities of the organisation. You'll help drive sustainable performance improvement as well as develop talent within the FBP community. You'll support the organisation through this change, bringing a new perspective, and helping to meet the challenges of our new price control agreement. We have sites and members of our finance team across our regions, with Exec and Finance presence concentrated in the Bristol area. We'd hope to see you in one of our sites at least three days each week and you're welcome to be in the office or at site more often if that would work best for you. We're happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you! What You'll Be Doing: Engage with stakeholders internally and externally to understand best practice and to influence decision makers. Actively contribute and impact the shape of commercial and non-financial performance related decisions Drive the management of performance, financial risks, and the implementation & maintenance of controls. Drive & support effective working relationships across Finance and the Business / functions, presenting as 'one team' at all times and aligning the service provided to the business through the 'embedded/focused/self-service' model. Shape the definition of value, key drivers which create value and the KPIs which measure value; and ensure these are used to inform performance management, decision making and planning for the future. Lead the long-term business & financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to drive performance. About You: You're a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) who has experience working within a matrix team structure. You have a broad range of financial, management and business modelling experience and have strong commercial skills. You're a trusted advisor who can use strategic insight to deliver tangible performance improvements and can adapt style of financial information presentation to suit a range of stakeholders, both financial and non-financial. You're an influencer who can impact the decisions and financial performance of senior stakeholders and their teams and can joins the dots between long term strategy and financial performance, whilst dealing with ambiguity. You have experience managing and developing a team and have a strong understanding of how value is generated and of operating within a regulated business environment.
