Finance Business Partner - Digital Capex

Transformation and Integration programmes are at the heart of IT’s mid-term plan and pivotal to BT’s future success.
The role holder will be the co-ordinating finance lead for all Capital Investments within Digital.
The role holder will play a key role in influencing the investment decisions that are responsible for ensuring Digital investments drive the maximum benefits for BT in the short and long terms. In addition, the role holder will have the responsibility of tracking and analysing the Actuals and Outlooks for Digital Capex and associated benefits, as well as working closely with the other Digital Finance Business Partners to understand the picture across all Digital units and provide insight to senior management.
- Overall finance owner of £0.6bn of capital investment across Digital – investment prioritisation, monitoring and reporting
- Working with COO to bring financial acumen into the Digital investment programmes, and ensuring ideas and learning is shared across programmes and Units
- Build and maintain an understanding of how investment (based on Unit demand) is forecast to be delivered in Digital and make judgements on how deliverable this demand is within the units based on resource capacity.
- Contribute to budgets, forecasts, reports and analysis through technical and functional expertise.
- Work hand in Hand with the Digital Investment Board to ensure the right cases are approved and that benefits and costs are clear and factored into MTP.
- Building and maintaining strong respected based relationships across all the Capex investment community
- Driving a programme of meaningful in-flight review across all investment programme, to confirm we continue to invest in our priorities and maximise return.
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with significant PQE (3yr+) and/or external experience in Big 4 / industry
- Excellent commercial acumen and decision making across Digital’s total budget including investment appraisals
- Ability to think strategically and articulate and create business models
- Data-led approach to solving complex problems and driving insight
- Ability to handle high levels of pressure and execute critical decision making as well as being self-motivating
- Excellent communicator capable of engaging and influencing leaders up to and including the Digital LT and across all Functions
