We're seeking a commercially minded, data driven Finance Business Analyst to provide insight analysis to drive decision making about BBC Studios content. Could this be you?
This Finance Business Analyst opportunity within our Content Partnerships Finance team sits in the heart of BBC Studios' business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be primarily focused on the revenue forecast and actuals reporting, revenue variance analysis, cost variance analysis, title profitability reporting and some data management projects and genre reporting. You will be partnering with key internal and external stakeholders, including Production genres and our Content Investment teams.
The Content Partnerships team leads the company’s creative partnerships, content funding strategies and IP pipeline. The team plays a key role in enabling a group-wide understanding of distribution margins, including analyses of margin enhancing and dilutive drivers in both actuals and forecasts. The team also maintains the integrity and control of financial systems and processes over c£400m of distribution costs.

Main ResponsibilitiesBusiness Support
- Help resolve key business issues and problems by delivering solutions and recommendations, based on sound analysis, for the Finance Manager and/or relevant operational stakeholders, sharing external and BBC-wide knowledge and good practice
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the divisional business, building and developing effective relationships with key business contacts
Analysis & Insight
- Deliver high quality financial and business analysis with recommendations for solving business problems, influencing and challenging business decisions
- Effectively bring together a range of source information and data to highlight new reporting modelling templates approach and ideas
Stakeholder Management
- Build and develop strong relationships with key business and finance stakeholders
- Ensure Finance Business Analysts and the relevant Finance teams are informed of issues, analysis and decisions that impact them or require their support/views

- Experience in the review and analysis of financial data from a range of source information to identify trends or themes and to suggest solutions/recommendations.
- Proficient in Excel, advanced modelling skills with the ability to create and maintain complex financial models.
- Ability to take complex data/principles and communicate these in an understandable way to the wider BBC team
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Possess strong numerical and analytical skills, reflecting an ability to manipulate and interpret data.
- Previous financial experience in media, a global commercial business, or an accountancy firm will be advantageous.
- Experience in revenue actuals reporting, forecasting, and consolidations in a complex multinational, multi-currency business, in addition to cash management and reporting, will be advantageous.
